Meet Maya Ridge

A field guide, not a gear pile

Maya Ridge is the editor and webmaster of RSS Mountain. She is based near Bend, Oregon, and covers creator cameras, podcast equipment, editing tools, blogging platforms, and calmer ways to publish online.

She grew up in Spokane, Washington. Weekend hikes and a hand-me-down tape recorder fed the same habit: notice small details, then explain them in plain words.

Maya studied journalism and audio production before working in local radio, outdoor retail, and freelance web publishing. She started RSS Mountain after watching new creators buy piles of gear before they knew what problem they were trying to solve.

How the guides are made

Each guide begins with the job a creator needs to do. Maya checks current maker details, reads independent reviews and user reports, compares limits, and tests the advice against a simple question: will this make the work easier?
